Dr Snyder Interviewed by BuzzFeed on the Safety of (Ahem) Certain Current Sex Practices
When BuzzFeed’s Casey Gueren wanted to know about the relative safety of a certain kind of sex practice, how could I say no?
What sex practice, exactly? Well, they also sought the opinion of a proctologist and an expert on STD’s. That should give you a clue.
Here’s the final article:

I’m usually asked more about the psychological than the medical aspects of sex, but I mentioned the importance of being vaccinated for Hepatitis A and B, and to be sensible about whom you do it with. We discussed the availability of barrier methods (such as dental dams) for improving the safety of oral-anal sex.
Then we discussed how no sexual activity is 100% risk-free, so it’s important to make sure you have an ethical relationship where you can trust each other to be honest. The woman who asked the question was quite eloquent about wanting to respect both her own and her partner’s feelings, and she was quite sensitive to the emotional issues involved. So I felt she deserved a thorough explanation of the medical and psychological issues involved.
Apparently, so did BuzzFeed.
